What is Rust-Fixing Emulsion? Essential Knowledge for Rust Removal

Rust-Fixing Emulsion is formulated from modified emulsion, rust conversion agents, and additives. As a novel single-component water-based functional product, it integrates the principles of rust removal—reversal, stabilization, and passivation—along with steel passivation theory. This achieves dissolution and reversal of rust deposits and oxide layers, forming a highly corrosion-resistant protective film to accomplish rust removal.

Rust-Solidifying Emulsion primarily reduces construction intensity and costs while enhancing coating efficiency. Its advantages are particularly evident on complex structures where mechanical rust removal is impractical. It dissolves rust from metal surfaces and migrates it into the resin layer, achieving rust removal and corrosion protection. Conventional paint merely covers the metal surface without reacting to corrosion.

Rust-fixing emulsion is widely applied in corrosion-prone metal coating fields characterized by high preservation costs and extended maintenance cycles. Key applications include: power facilities, transportation infrastructure, steel mills, bridges and tunnels, construction machinery, color-coated steel sheets, steel structures, and guardrails.

As a pretreatment agent and film-forming emulsion, rust-fixing emulsion provides physical isolation and corrosion-inhibiting protection. It adheres to surfaces, permeating and encapsulating rust conversion products while creating a denser, more uniform protective film that effectively blocks contact between corrosive media and metal surfaces. It can also function as a blending agent, directly treating metal surfaces when mixed with emulsions.
