Product Overview

Heavy calcium carbonate, fully known as heavy-duty calcium carbonate, is produced by grinding natural carbonate minerals such as calcite, marble, and limestone. It possesses a series of superior physicochemical properties, including dispersibility, surface hydrophilicity, gloss and whiteness, and hardness, making it a vital chemical raw material. Heavy calcium carbonate is an important green, environmentally friendly, energy-saving, and emission-reducing non-metallic mineral material.

Properties

Heavy calcium carbonate appears as a white powder, colourless and odourless. It is stable in air. It is practically insoluble in water and insoluble in alcohol. It reacts vigorously with dilute acetic acid, dilute hydrochloric acid, or dilute nitric acid, dissolving upon contact. As a commonly used powdered inorganic filler, it offers high chemical purity, significant inertness, low chemical reactivity, excellent thermal stability (no decomposition below 400°C), high whiteness, low oil absorption, low refractive index, non-toxicity, odourlessness, and good dispersibility.

Applications

coatings industry：it serves as a filler providing structural support, partially replacing white pigments to enhance coverage and adhesion.

plastics manufacturing：it improves rigidity and thermal stability while reducing costs.

papermaking： it increases paper whiteness and smoothness, improving printability.

rubber products： it enhances mechanical strength and abrasion resistance;

Additionally, it finds extensive application in ink, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, food, and other industries.

Transportation

Transport as non-hazardous goods. Bulk lorries must be covered with waterproof tarpaulins; containers require moisture-proof lining.
